My understanding is that Honda VCM turns off fuel and spark to cylinders (1-4 depending on load, speed, etc) in order to decrease fuel burn and increase mpg of the Honda V6. By putting in a Muzzler you may prevent the plug from fouling, but you haven't addressed the root of the problem with the oil getting past the rings AND if the error never pops, you ultimately prevent yourself from having Honda fix it for free.
You can try different things to help lessen the consumption of oil, but if it is getting past the rings in enough quantity to cause you to have to add oil in between services, you will eventually need to get it fixed. The biggest benefit I see is that when I check my oil weekly, I am not seeing any drop in the level since the rings were replaced and my exhaust tips are staying a bit cleaner. This probably has more to do with the gas stations switching from winter to summer blended fuel than a increase due to the repair. If I do pure freeway, then I can get 22-23. No VCMuzzler pre or post rebuild by Honda and post rebuild my combined MPG for daily commuting is holding at 20 -21. For me I would start seeing the drop with around 60% left on the MM. A week after I was home and local commuting, I was down a quart. I did a trip from Columbus to Gainesville FL and back. Seemed that it happened more when I had a bunch of combined city/hwy driving. I could never tie it to a particular driving style. On average it was a little over 1 qt down by the time I did an oil change. Some times I was down almost 2 quarts if I didn't catch it in time.
